Alan has worked for several years in the areas of Youth Skills Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Africa/Tanzania, and Canada. Alan’s professional experience includes a variety of senior leadership posts (Vice President Academic, System Dean of Engineering, College Dean of Teaching & Learning) and teaching posts. He has an excellent knowledge of international post-secondary education systems, program/curriculum design and delivery, pedagogy and andragogy, learning models for wider skills, quality assurance systems, strategic planning, and the interplay of cultural settings and contexts.
Alan’s academic credentials include a Doctorate in Education, a Master in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and a Post-Degree Certificate in Education. He holds a permanent professional teaching certificate and a P. Eng. designation. His academic areas of interest are related to:
- Educational aims and learning models for K to 16 systems in developed and developing countries.
- Leadership and organizational change in international contexts.
